I just finished redecorating my entire apartment (yay!), and since I'm a huge bargain shopper, I wanted to write a quick post and recommend my favorite, affordable places for home decor.
My previous living room theme was dark red and purple tones, but I found myself loving all the photos on Pinterest with bright whites and accent colors. Pinks, corals, teals... that's what I was going for.
I redesigned my entire apartment for under $500 by purchasing my new furniture, artwork and curtains from the following places:
Fuchsia Nina chair: World Market $200
Dorel Chevron Ottoman: eBay $100
Safavieh White Shag Rug: Overstock.com $150
VMInnovations Plush Blanket: eBay $20 (for couch cover)
Throw pillows: Ross $20
Most of these items I purchased on sale, so they may have gone up in price. I had been eyeing that chair for months before it was marked down!
I had purchased the wall art from Craigslist a few years ago, so I went to Michael's Arts & Crafts and bought a few metallic paints for $2 each so it now matches the color scheme. I also painted the table white - it was once a black Ikea table.
Also, I purchased new curtains for my bedroom at Carol Wright Gifts for only $5 a panel! They have by far the most affordable curtains I've found online.
Last, if anyone has a Ross near you, they have great affordable home decor. I've got numerous paintings, ottomans, plant pots, sheets, and so many other great things from there.
