Conquering the Quarter Life Crisis

I never realized how much I hated my day job until I turned 25. Honestly, I never even thought about it. Or my passions. Or goals. I was just content in my everyday routine, boring job, long-ass commute, and then one day BOOM. 30 started lurking around the corner. I wasn't in my early 20's anymore.

And more importantly - WHAT THE HELL WAS I DOING WITH MY LIFE?!

In hindsight, my quarter-life crisis was the best thing that ever happened to me, though it didn't feel like it at the time. It felt like I had wasted years of my life at a corporate job instead of pursuing things I was truly passionate about.

This crisis was also where I got the name for this blog, because I knew deep down that I was not meant to spend my life sitting in a cubicle reading resumes and reports all day.

Luckily, it was around this time that I got laid off from my full time recruiting job. While most people would be devastated, I was ecstatic. I hated recruiting! I hated sitting in an office all day! And now I had an excuse to use my savings and my newfound time off and actually start living my life!

So much happened during this time that I don't even know where to begin. I broke up with my boyfriend and moved to LA. I spent a semester in Paris and finished my bachelor's degree. I went on tour with a rock band and saw half of the US. I self-published my first novel and by some miraculous grace of God it ended up as a top 100 best-seller on Amazon.

Just to name a few.

I've since started doing part-time contract recruiting gigs so I have the freedom to continue writing books, blogging, and traveling. This blog is a collection of my journeys through the years as I learned how to ditch the 9-5 and make time to do things I love.

Because hell is a motherfucking cubicle.
